Designed to raise awareness about disability employment issues and celebrate the many contributions of America\u2019s workers with disabilities,\u00a0the\u00a0theme for October 2014 is \u201c<span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>Expect. Employ.\u00a0 Empower.<\/strong><\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>\u201c<span style=\"color: #008000\">We all have a role to play in \u2014 and benefit to gain from \u2014 increasing opportunities for meaningful employment for people with disabilities. This year&#8217;s theme encapsulates this in three powerful words. It conveys that advancing disability employment is about much more than just hiring. It&#8217;s about creating a continuum of inclusion. And the first step on this continuum is expectation,&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<\/em>Kathy Martinez, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Organizations across the country join in this month&#8217;s national campaign to raise awareness about disability employment issues and to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America&#8217;s workers with disabilities. ODEP provides a <a title=\"national disability employment awareness month resources web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dol.gov\/odep\/topics\/ndeam\/index-2014.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wealth of resources<\/a> and ideas fo<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #008000\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">r those wishing to support this campaign &#8211; this month and <em>throughout the year<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Center for Literacy, Education and Employment is proud to support National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM).
