Kim currently coordinates professional development and resource management for the School and Family team’s work with In Kim’s previous work with the Center for Literacy Studies she served as the Collection Development Coordinator for the LINCS Program Leadership and Improvement Special Collection and Moderator for the related Program Leadership and Improvement Discussion List. She has also served as coordinator for professional development projects in Tennessee Adult Education/Families First programs. Kim has an M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Educational Media and Instructional Design with a concentration in Adult Education. Prior to coming to the Center, she worked in a public library setting.

Kim lives with her spouse, her beautiful children with whom she’s smitten; one cat; and two dogs. Kim is a member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Maryville Chapter (link to Her special interests are research on bi-polar disorder; the role of religious faith in the lives of those with severe brain disorders and their families; and eradication of stigma around depression, bi-polar disorder, and schizophrenia. She has recently served as a volunteer literacy tutor in a local adult education program.
