CSPS Director Awarded with University’s Highest Honor

Sarah Hillyer, 2019 President's Award recipient and director of the Center for Sport Peace and SocietySarah Hillyer is one of those people who you will meet and just know, she’s destined to do great things and she does. As director of the Center for Sport, Peace and Society located in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at UT, Knoxville, Hillyer was recognized at the 2019 Tennessee President’s Awards as the Connect Honoree. She was chosen as one of only five recipients receiving the highest honor a UT employee can receive based her work in outreach, engagement and service efforts and programs. Her efforts have granted the opportunity to work with more than 500,000 women and girls, youth, refugees, persons with disabilities, students, student-athletes and others from marginalized countries, using sport to make a change in their lives and her work is not done.
