Wayne Tipps, PhD and retired professor of Music Education, was recently inducted into the Educators Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor was established to recognize educators who have made profound differences in their students’ lives and the community.
Tipps received his PhD in Music Education from the University of Michigan. He is a proud retiree of the University of Tennessee where he served as a professor of Music Education and was active in the Tennessee Bandmasters Association where he served in roles such as president, vice-president, convention chair and executive secretary. He also served as the conductor of the East Tennessee Concert Band.
