Robert J. Booker, author and historian, was recently inducted into Educators Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor was established to recognize educators who have made profound differences in their students’ lives and the community.
Booker was the former director of the Beck Cultural Exchange Center and a Knoxville Journal columnist who has authored three books about the history of black culture in Knoxville and the history of the Knoxville College. Booker also served on the State and Civil Service Commission and the Tennessee Committee on Humanities. He received his BS in Education from Knoxville College.
