As many of us have heard through various media sources, a new director has been appointed for the Center of Educational Leadership. Jim McIntyre, who is stepping down as Knox County Schools Superintendent on July 8, will begin his new position in our college in August. McIntyre will fill the positions held prior by Autumn Tooms-Cypres through 2013. In addition, he will also serve as a nontenure-track assistant professor of practice.
McIntyre will bring his many years of experience in school systems and as a leader to the institute. His knowledge will be a great asset for the center who provides “rigorous training for aspiring school leaders in a way that bridges the gap between theory and practice.”
CEHHS welcomes McIntyre to our family and wish him the greatest of success in his new position which begins in August.
