Ishitani Receives Charles F. Elton Best Paper Award from Association for Institutional Research

Congratulations to Terry Ishitani, PhD, Associate Professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies for receiving the Charles F. Elton Best Paper Award from the Association for Institutional Research (AIR).  Ishitani, along with Sean McKitrick, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, submitted and are being honored for their article: Are Student Loan Default Rates Linked to Institutional Effectiveness?  Journal of Student Financial Aid.  This honor is awarded only to manuscripts which made significant scholarly contributions to the field of institutional research and decision-making in higher education.  Selection for this award is a high honor, achieved only through two independent peer review processes; the recipients were selected to present their research at the AIR annual conference and the resulting manuscript was independently peer reviewed and accepted for publication.

AIR is the world’s largest professional association for institutional research, assessment, and other data-focused functions.  Its primary purpose is to improve higher education operations and policy through educational resources, professional development, and research.
