Congratulations to the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences’ own Tara Garland, Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management December graduate for receiving her American Culinary Federation Certification while attending classes at the University of Tennessee. Tara graduated with her degree in Hospitality, Restaurant. and Tourism Management and only three days later, received her chef certification which required three thirty-hour courses in order to complete the requirements.
Tara’s mentor, Greg Eisele of the Conferences & Continuing Education Program, helped Tara reach her dream. Working as an administration assistant for the Culinary program, Tara was able to work her way up to sous chef. The aid of a scholarship made the online classes possible.
