Global Sports Mentoring Program Supported by Center for Sport, Peace, and Society

The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences is home to a center which believes in big dreams, or as we call them at the University of Tennessee, Big Orange Ideas.  The Center for Sport, Peace, and Society fosters those ideas in their mission to use sport to change lives, communities, and the world through teaching, research, and service.

One example of the passion for their mission is the involvement in the Global Sports Mentoring Program.  Young women leaders from around the world participate in a partnership with U.S. senior female executives who serve as mentors and share valuable business and leadership skills.  The partnership is between the U.S. Department of State, espnW, and the center.

Women in the program see an increase in self-esteem, health, and well-being in their home country when they share the knowledge gained during the program which leads to the creation of a stronger community and world.
