The academic enrichment experience includes three core courses each morning, including College Research Skills, Math and English. Afternoons included participation in one of seven “academic tracks” ranging from Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics (STEM) to Sport and Recreation Management from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Students participated in on and off-campus recreation/social programs. On Friday the Summer Institute scholars participated in community service projects with Water Angels Ministry and Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Scholars received a certificate of completion and a $150 stipend for completing the UT Summer Institute. Upon completing both the Pellissippi and UT Summer Institutes and graduating with a minimum 2.75 high school GPA, participants are eligible to receive a $4,000 scholarship.
