The Center for Sport, Peace and Society, through a partnership to empower girls and women from developing nations, has been recognized as one of the University of Tennessee’s successful Carnegie Community Engagement Partnerships That Make A Difference. Chosen as one of the top fifty, the partnership with the US Department of State and espnW gives girls and women from all over the world an opportunity to become social entrepreneurs, developing projects that raise awareness and call for change. The students and faculty of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences are highly involved in acting as coordinators and hosts to international visitors as they learn about global issues and new avenues for research.
