CEHHS Alum, Tony Brown, Named One of World's Top 50 Philanthropists

Tony Brown HOLATony Brown (“00), with the Heart of Los Angeles Afterschool (HOLA) Program, has been named one of the world’s top 50 philanthropist by Town and Country Magazine for 2015.  HOLA, a free exceptional after-school program for underserved and at-risk youth in arts, academics and athletics gives kids a chance they otherwise would not have.  Tony, a graduate of the master’s degree program in Sport Management, has led his organization is achieving a 100 percent high school graduation rate (with 98 percent of graduates going on to college).  Congratulations to Tony and his great success in a program which is very meaningful to him. His own brother once told him, “I wish I would’ve had a place like this when I was a kid.”  Tony feels his success can be traced back to UT.  The access and experiences he received helped pave his way to this great organization. The impact he has made upon these kids has been life changing.
