This semester, students in PUBH 336: Public Health Research Methods, taught by Dr. Larisa Ozeryansky, engaged in community-based learning through a partnership with Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries (KARM).

Over two weeks, 40 students conducted nearly 200 in-person interviews at the Summit Health Clinic, exploring health needs among individuals experiencing housing instability. Students gained hands-on experience in survey design, data collection, and ethical research. The semester concluded with a Final Poster Showcase on April 30.

Students will continue collaborating with Dr. Ozeryansky on manuscripts, with four abstracts already accepted to the Tennessee Public Health Association‘s Annual Conference in September 2026.
