Teacher Recruitment Fair Introduces Students to Potential Employers
Over 90 school systems took part this spring in the 2005 Teacher Recruitment Fair, an annual event that brings graduates of the CEHHS teacher licensure programs together with potential employers. Human Resources personnel from school systems across the country are invited to attend the Fair, which is coordinated in conjunction with the Office of Career Services.
Because CEHHS students complete a year-long professional internship in their programs of study, they are highly sought after by school systems. They graduate with strong backgrounds in their academic disciplines, proficiency in classroom management, and skills required for meeting the needs of a diverse range of students. Students completing the internship experience are committed classroom teachers with clearly defined career goals.
Evaluations conducted at the conclusion of the Teacher Recruitment Fair provided positive feedback from both the students and their prospective employers. Students felt the event provided an excellent opportunity to meet a wide range of prospective employers. Recruiters indicated they plan to attend this event each year to recruit this impressive group of students.
