Conceptual Framework |
Please see the attached “Conceptual Framework” which is part of our Institutional Report for NCATE and State accreditation. The attached conceptual framework is based on themes and knowledge bases that continue from previous adoptions and which are still useful and valid as underpinnings for our programs. As a result of our recently merged college new constructions of mission, vision and values are now included in the conceptual framework which in turn drives a new set of “Student Outcomes” that are meant to cut across our programs for initial licensure, graduate licensure programs and continuing professional education programs for school personnel. A new highlight of the conceptual framework is the addition of an overarching theme of “Educator as Leader”. This came about basically in recognition of how the concept and practice of “leadership” emerges again and again in the language of our mission, our goals and program descriptions. It is absolutely true that our college and its collaborative programs in the university are expected to produce leaders and the actions and performances of our graduates and licensees documents that this does indeed happen. The construction of our Framework comes from many sources. The strategic plan referred to is the work of many persons over the years since our merger. The themes and knowledge bases though a bit scant due to space limitations are drawn from faculty work from a couple of years ago and more recent discussions in preparation for writing our report. |
