Frequently Asked Questions about Giving to the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
I can only afford a small gift. How will this make a difference?
Every donation, regardless of size is important. By making a donation to the department or program of your choice, you express your loyalty to the College and support its tradition of excellence. New gifts from alumni help increase the University’s overall alumni giving percentage, thus placing UT ahead of its peer institutions. Many corporations and foundations use alumni giving participation as a determining factor in funding grant requests.
Where do my dollars go when I contribute to the CEHHS College Fund?
All areas of the College benefit from this fund. It provides students and faculty with the finest learning environment and the best college experience, whether it’s innovative technology or classroom maintenance. The dean determines areas with the greatest needs and addresses them through this fund.
Can I make a gift of stock?
Yes. Contact the College Development Office (865-974-3968) or e-mail the director at bluedean@utk.edu
Is my gift tax deductible?

How do matching gifts work?
Many companies will match your gift to the College, thereby doubling or sometimes tripling your contribution. We encourage you to check with your company’s human resources or personnel office to determine whether your company has a corporate matching gift program. Obtain and complete the appropriate form and send it, along with your gift, to the the Development Office in our College..
Can I make a gift over time?
Yes. Pledges are acceptable and appreciated. You can fulfill your pledge in one payment during the fiscal year in which it was made, or you can stretch payments over a period of years and make equal payments on an annual basis.
