The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences congratulates Susan Riechert of the VolsTeach program.  Riechert has been awarded the 2016 SEC Faculty Achievement Award.

Riechert is one of fourteen men and women to receive this award among nearly 14,000 full-time tenured professors in the SEC. As an honoree from the university, Riechert will receive an honorarium and become the university’s nominee for the SEC Professor of the Year award to be named in April.

Riechert, co-director of the VolsTeach program, is a UTK Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and has won several prestigious awards.  Most of her research is on spiders and the interface between behavior, ecology and evolutionary biology.  In her role with VolsTeach, Riechert aims to help improve the quantity and quality of mathematics and science teachers in Tennessee.
