Center for Sport, Peace, and Society Featured on ESPN

The Center for Sport, Peace, and Society (CSPS) continues to achieve their goal; to use sport to change lives, communities, and the world through teaching, research, and service.  A part of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, the CSPS is featured on ESPN in an example of how their work continues to expose, equip, empower, and entrust local and global audiences to use sport to make a positive difference.

Sarah Hillyer and Ashleigh Huffman, director and assistant director of the CSPS, along with Rizgar Raoff, Iraq coach, share the story of generosity of Lady Vols Coach Pat Head Summitt. Working with the CSPS and their goal of holding a basketball tournament in Iraq, Summitt generously donated equipment; equipment which opened the door to dreams these young ladies never imagined. But the changes only began there.  Watch these amazing ladies and their journey which resulted from some donated equipment just sitting in a closet.
