Brian Barber is New America Fellow; Writing Book About Life on Gaza Strip

Brian K. Barber, founding director of UT”s Center for the Study of Youth and Political Conflict has been named a 2015 fellow at the New American Foundation in Washington, D.C.  Barber, also a professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies will begin his book narrating the lives of six men from the Gaza Strip which he has interviewed regularly for the past 20 years, since they emerged as youth from the first Palestinian intifada in 1993.  In his fellowship role, Barber will be headquartered in Washington for the coming year.
